Healthy Food Budget – Dec 14

Dec Week Two Healthy Food Budget: $84.55

Another big week of spending. And with over two more weeks left in the month, I am not certain I’ll make budget, even with the increase.

Dec Wk 2 Food Spending $84.55 / Total $377.87 / Balance $72.13

Dining Out: $43.78 / Total $95.59
Groceries: $40.77 / Total $282.28

Nothing too exciting to report on, except that I’m spending way too much on dining out!

Where I Spent My Grocery Dollars This Week

Market Basket $6.40 for organic apples, bananas, seedless grapes

Trader Joe’s $18.25 for dry roasted organic cashews, 2 dark chocolate bars, bananas, 2lb bag o’ organic sweet onions, 5lb white whole wheat flour.

Whole Foods $13.47 for local whole milk, Reggiano Parm (1 day sale $10/lb), Pink Lady organic apples (sale $1.79lb) and pint of local heavy cream

Market Basket $5.99 for frozen keylime pie.

About My Healthy Budget

My healthy budget goal is to eat seasonal (local if possible,) home-cooked meals while sticking to a $400 $450 monthly budget for all food including groceries, dining out, entertaining, vitamins/supplements, and gardening.

There’s two of us eating (mostly) 3 meals per day. DH occasionally eats take-out lunch at work, & that $ comes out of his personal cash stash.
