Finished planting our veggie garden this weekend. I wasn’t sure if I was going to have one this year, but my DH, God bless his sweet soul, borrowed a rototiller and got the soil ready. He even expanded the width of the garden a little.
So we have
- snap peas
- shell peas
- carrots
- chard
- asian greens (with a lovely covering to keep out the cabbage moths)
- cherry tomatoes
- bell peppers
- basil
- cucumbers
- corn (DH’s idea)
I’m hoping to get a photo of the garden soon!
Your garden sounds wondeful, Debbie! I was talking to a 90-year-old neighbor the other day. He only plants corn in his garden, and it turns out it’s because the deer don’t eat it! I found that fascinating. Apparently, they don’t like the cornsilk part.
Hope it’s coming along well!
Thanks Angela,
The weather here has been horrid. It’s unseasonably chilly and rainy and I don’t think it’ll be a good season for cukes, peppers or tomatoes. But my peas, greens, & chard should be happy. Lol
As for the corn, funny you shoukd mention that. I came out one afternoon to check on the garden and a critter had eaten most of the corn plants. There is still 3 fairly decent large stubs that hopefully will grow.
I don’t mind sharing the garden, just don’t eat it all! Hahaha. I think it was a bunny npby the way!
